According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fitness is defined as ‘the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure-time pursuits and respond to emergencies.’ Based on this definition I believe ‘fitness’ or ‘being fit’ includes the most simple tasks, like getting out of bed or being able to tie your shoes or to go on vacation and throw a football on the beach with your kid. In our society today I think many often believe that ‘fitness’ or ‘being fit’ means they need to be able to run a marathon or they must be a certain # on the scale. ‘Fitness’ has a wide range of levels.

My mission as a coach at BGBYBC is to be a motivating and friendly catalysts to inspire each participant towards achieving his or her fitness goals no matter their ‘fitness’ level.

I am a husband and a father of two boys. I feel fortunate that my ‘fitness’ journey began very early in life as I was exposed to physical fitness (or the need to be fit) as a junior high school athlete. I also feel fortunate that the desire to stay fit has always been present in my life. I enjoy running, mountain biking, kayaking and weight lifting.
